Roots from isla to Pennsylvania” { The surname ” Penn” (Welsh for head) plus the latin word Sylvan. The name was given to a land tract granted to William Penn by King Charles II in 1681.}

“Sylvan” comes from the latin world Silvanus, means “of or relating to the forest”. The world “Sylvan” was first use in English in the 16 th century. it was originally used as a noun to refer to a mythological deity of the woods. It later came to mean ” one who frequents the woods”
